Hope you haven't just had your tea!!

Interestingly I have just been reading '5 mins with Graham Fink' on creative pool. When asked what his favourite website was he answered there are too many to mention but that the link below caught his attention recently. He mentions that it is 'fantastically well done' which is true, it's very slick and neat, must of been a canny web designer but in saying this, it's contents put me off my grapes! I personally reccommend viewing gentleman number 16....!

Time to get on with it...

Finally coming to the conclusive element of my 2,500 word essay. Amongst my littering essential working time with anything but, (damn you i-tunes and asos)I finally got down to starting my essay and have managed to thus far ramble for 2,169 words! Impressive considering this task started with a paragraph followed by an unantisipated mental block! Been working like a little beaver but have managed to abolish the mind blockages. HHHHOOWW, you ask? Well it's nothing a cider in the sun can't fix! Amazing that once the pear bulmers was cracked open, creative flow emerged from the baracades of the dammed river! I've come to realise that casual breaks is like a demon to the common Beaver... Or more commonly known as overthinking and stress! Although we often think we're being serious about the task at hand and thinking over and over again about it, what we're acctually doing is summoning our inner beaver! The vocation of the beaver is to create dams to consequence a rivers flow, by stressing we are giving the beaver his tools to build his damns! Give the beaver no tools, he can build no dams!!! Therefor, having a work break and a cheeky cider will not sustain creative flow, infact it is quite the contrary! Regular declared idol time is quite the brain booster! So I say this to all you hard-working fellow final yearers, befriend your inner beaver and grab your raft because we is goin'-a-cruisin' down the rivers of course completion. Think about it, maybe if beavers had a tea break now and again they would of came up with a better way to build dams then ruining their dentures!

Can't hate them though, lush little creatures! Love a good grafter but every1 deserves a kit-kat or in my case, cider!

The man himself.......

BILLY!

Bill Bernbach

Now that I am approaching a change over from Art Director to Copy Writer, I've been looking deeper into the legends of the trade. Bill Bernbach I'm sure would be most's immediate contender to come to mind! His quotes are insightful and the kind of thing I'd like to keep in mind throughout my advertising career;

"I warn you against believing that advertising is a science."

"Rules are what the artist breaks; the memorable never emerged from a formula."

"Logice and over-analysis can immobilize and sterillize an idea. It's like love- the more you analyze it, the faster it disappears."

"There are few things more destructive than an unsound idea persuasively expressed."

"Research can trap you in the past."

Fav Ads

I was asked last weeks what my favourite ad is as part of my final show, after much deliberation I came up with Honda Cog, obviously there are many contenders for favourite. Honda Choir I enjoy and the Fallon favourites of Sony balls and Bunnies!
All Classics of a modern era!
